At NYCC, Bandai locked the NARUTO CARD GAME launch for June 2027, plus three starter decks, the first booster, and one million demo decks.
June 2027. That alone would have made Saturday night in New York worth it, and Bandai wasn’t done. At New York Comic Con’s „NARUTO: What’s Next?“ panel the new NARUTO CARD GAME teaser ran on the big screen, while a press release went out naming an actual month for the first time (not a season, a month). Plus three starter decks, the name of the first booster, and a demo campaign with one million decks.

Up to now it was „Summer 2027“ everywhere. The official card game site, naruto-cardgame.com, still says that (somebody didn’t get the memo). Bandai’s press release and the new project page on naruto-official.com both say it plainly, though: simultaneous worldwide launch, June 2027.
Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara, and a Booster With an Entrance
Three starter decks at launch, led by Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Gaara. Each gets its own Leader and play style, pre-constructed, ready to shuffle up straight out of the box. Gaara as the third Leader? I love it. Kakashi or Sakura would have been the lazy pick (Team 7 complete, ship it). Bandai handed the slot to the kid from Sunagakure with the sand gourd instead.
The first booster is called „Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!“ According to Bandai, it covers characters from NARUTO and NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, with new ninjas, techniques, and other cards.
Bandai hasn’t announced prices or card counts per deck or booster yet.
A Million Demo Decks
For players outside the US, this is where it gets interesting. Starting in February 2027, Premier Demo Events kick off at stores participating in BANDAI TCG+. Wave 1 runs at select large-scale stores; Wave 2 brings in more shops. Anime News Network reported specific windows from the panel: February 5-19 and February 19 through March 5 at select stores, then a wider demo event from March 5-31. Those dates aren’t in the official press release, though. Bandai says event dates, registration, and procedures will be announced later on the official website.
The events also come with two exclusives you’d otherwise only find at select BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 stops (Orlando and London get named): the Official Playmat „NARUTO VS. SASUKE“ as an advance release, and the „Premium Card Collection Vol.00 – CHAKRA Set.“ If you’re in Europe, London is your Fest stop.
Then comes the number that stuck with me. Starting in spring 2027, Bandai plans to hand out one million Demo Decks worldwide. Details? Later. Of course.
That’s the most important line in the whole release, if you ask me. A card game nobody plays at the store dies quietly, and Bandai already lived through that with its old Naruto card game (2006 to 2013). A million free decks tells me they’re building from the ground up this time. How many actually make it to Germany comes down to how many local stores are registered with BANDAI TCG+, and how Bandai splits the allotment across more than 50 regions. Europe is explicitly on the list. Does that mean your corner shop gets a stack? Not necessarily.
Part of Project Rasengan
All of this sat under the „Project Rasengan“ umbrella: a Naruto and Boruto roadmap running from 2027 to 2029 with eight teased projects. The card game is Project 2, one of the first four, next to a Ninku crossover anime, the worldwide release of Naruto Mobile, and a new manga by Masashi Kishimoto. For this site only Project 2 counts. The rest is anime and video game turf.
Studio Pierrot made the teaser with original artwork, and you can watch it on YouTube. Within hours r/NarutoCardGame had several threads going about the trailer and the new card art.
Bandai has pegged Jump Festa in December for the next major update. Before that there’s SPIEL Essen, October 22-25, where the NCG is running tutorial sessions. Heading there? Ask at the booth about demo events at German stores. Somebody there might know more than the press release does.
