The NYCC panel with the first NCG video gets a worldwide livestream on the official NARUTO/BORUTO YouTube channel, Saturday, October 10, 5 PM ET.

A week ago we wrote that Bandai hadn’t said whether the NYCC panel would be streamed at all. Well, that’s answered now. On September 29 the official NARUTO site posted a follow-up: the „NARUTO: What’s Next?“ stage gets a worldwide simultaneous livestream on the official NARUTO/BORUTO YouTube channel.

The stream starts Sunday, October 11, at 6:00 AM Japan time. In New York that’s Saturday, October 10, at 5:00 PM, matching the panel slot. Over here in Germany it’s 11:00 PM (European summer time runs until October 25, so no clock-change surprise yet).

Now the card game shows up in Japanese, too

A stream is nice. What caught my eye is where the news came from. So far, the first NCG promo video had only been mentioned in an English-language media alert from VIZ Media. That’s it. The Japanese announcement on naruto-official.com lists two items for the stage, and one of them reads „『NARUTOカードゲーム』最新情報“, the latest info on the NARUTO card game planned for 2027. Which means the Japanese IP side itself now confirms something NCG-related is coming on October 10, and we’re no longer hanging the whole thing on half a sentence from a North American press release. I’ll take that.

The second item is an anime announcement billed as a world premiere. Not our beat. It does explain why the stream lives on the anime channel and not on Bandai Card Games, though. This is the franchise’s panel, and the game is a guest. On stage: Junko Takeuchi (Naruto), Noriaki Sugiyama (Sasuke) and Yoshihiko Tominaga of PIERROT FILMS. A game designer? Nope.

Bandai also updated the NYCC page on naruto-cardgame.com with the panel details on September 29. Room is the Empire Stage on North-Level 5, and the blurb promises „the latest updates on the anime, the NARUTO CARD GAME, and other exciting new projects.“ Booth #2705 and the tutorial rules stay as they were.

What you’ll realistically see

If you’re not in New York, honestly, the stream is the bigger news here, bigger than the panel. Until yesterday nobody knew whether you’d catch the first PV live or spend the next morning digging for a shaky phone clip on some forum. Now there’s a fixed time and an official link. Done.

Keep your expectations low anyway. An NCG segment tucked into an anime show is more likely a few minutes than half an hour. Prices, set names, a European release date? Those are the things that would actually matter before SPIEL Essen, and I don’t see them landing in that format. Go in hoping for them and you’ll go to bed grumpy.

Here’s what I’m actually curious about: how does Bandai pitch the game in the video? Cards on a table, or artwork over a soundtrack? When One Piece got its first trailer, it told you pretty plainly which audience they were chasing. And twelve days later the NCG demo tables open in Essen, so whatever gets shown on October 10 is what the crew there will be working with. (No pressure, folks.)

Naruto’s birthday, a live panel and the first video for the card game, all on one Saturday. Watching live, or waiting for the recap?
