Bandai is inviting content creators to a dedicated NARUTO CARD GAME session on day one of SPIEL Essen: filming time, materials, a gift kit. Applications close September 27, English speakers only.
Thursday evening the English NARUTO CARD GAME account put out a call for content creators heading to SPIEL Essen: apply and you might get a session of your own. Hands-on play, filming time reserved for you, a materials pack. All of it on October 22, the fair’s opening day.
Everyone else? Same deal as before. One free tutorial session per person, walk up to the booth, get a CP-001 Chakra Card for your trouble. Bring a camera and a channel and, apparently, you skip the line.

What Bandai is offering (and what it isn’t)
The tweet is short, so you get the whole thing:
„Calling all TCG creators attending SPIEL Essen 2026. Join an exclusive NARUTO CARD GAME creator session featuring hands-on gameplay and content capture opportunities. Selected creators will receive guided gameplay assistance, dedicated filming time, creator materials, and an exclusive gift kit. Apply now!“
Translated out of marketing: someone from Bandai plays sensei at your table and walks you through the game, you get a block of time to shoot, you get creator materials (logos, artwork, key visuals at print resolution would be my guess), and you get an „exclusive gift kit.“ What’s in the kit? Nobody says. If I had to put money on it: the Chakra promo, the sticker, and one thing you can’t get at the booth. That’s a guess, not a fact.
The application form lives behind a short link on monday.com and carries the title „Influencer and Media Event Form.“ I couldn’t open it directly (it only renders in a browser with scripts on), but the folks at narutoreca wrote down the essentials. Applications close September 27. Notifications go out from October 9. You have to be 18 or older, on site October 22, and English-speaking.
English. At a fair in Essen, Germany.
The language problem and the calendar problem
I’m not going to make a scandal out of this, but it sticks out. The call runs through the EN account, the form is in English, and the language requirement is spelled out in writing. My theory: the crew at the Essen table is probably the same crew that worked New York Comic Con the week before, and that crew speaks English. Fine for them. A German YouTuber with a small channel and shaky English will think twice, and I wouldn’t blame them.
Then there’s the calendar. Notifications from October 9, event on October 22. That’s 13 days to sort out travel, a hotel, and a fair ticket. Nobody flying in from Vienna or Berlin books that on spec. And NYCC runs October 8 through 11, which means those acceptance emails get sent from the middle of a convention floor in New York. Anyone want to bet on whether they land on time?
October 22 is a Thursday, by the way. If you need a day off work for it, that’s your first hurdle before you even open the form.
What this means for regular visitors
Nothing bad. For now. The creator session is its own block, not the tutorial run for fair visitors. Whether the filming happens at the same booth and pulls tables out of public play, though, isn’t stated anywhere. With a one-session-per-person cap and a limited number of demo decks, that would be the question that actually matters. I don’t have an answer. Neither does Bandai, apparently.
I still think this is the right move. The game doesn’t ship until summer 2027, which from Essen is a good eight months with nothing on the shelf. You don’t bridge a gap like that with press releases. You bridge it with people sitting at a table showing what an attack on the Leader actually feels like. Magic has run creator preview events for years, and the reach they generate is something you simply can’t buy with ads.
As of Friday midday the tweet had around 21,000 views, 190 likes, and a dozen replies. Not much. For a call aimed at maybe a few hundred people across Europe, probably plenty.
If you’re applying: September 27 is a Sunday and Bandai doesn’t name a time. I’d have it done by Friday. Is Bandai planning the same thing for Paris (same days, same week)? Nothing so far, in English or in French.
Are you going to Essen with a camera or without one? And would you apply in English if you film in German?
