Naruto TCG: Essen Confirmed, Paris Runs Parallel

Back on August 21 I wrote that Bandai’s Essen plans wouldn’t be clear until September 3, when the fair unlocks its exhibitor list and hall maps. We got the answer a day late. Bandai has put up a dedicated event page for SPIEL ’26, plus one each for Paris Games Week and Lucca Comics & Games.

Germany is no longer a line item on a roadmap. There’s a page now. With rules on it.

Earlier coverage: Naruto TCG in Essen: New Hall, One Open Date (08/21/2026)

The basics: October 22 to 25, 2026, Messe Essen. Tutorial sessions cost nothing beyond your fair ticket. Sign-ups happen on site on the day itself, not online in advance. And then there’s the line that stings: one session per person for the entire four-day show.

Play a session, register for the „NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL“ in the TCG+ app, fill out the survey afterward, and you walk away with the CP-001 Chakra Card and a logo sticker. Bandai spells it out:

Only participants registered to the „NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL“ on TCG+ and who complete a survey after the Tutorial Session are eligible to receive the above items.

No account, no card. Simple as that.

Anyone who has tracked the NCG tour so far will spot the shift immediately. Jakarta ran advance sign-ups through a portal with a face scan, Manila had a registration deadline days ahead. Essen is walk-up. More convenient, sure, but it also means you’re holding nothing in your hand when you show up Thursday morning.

Sessions use preconstructed demo decks you don’t get to keep. NCG builds around a Leader card, a 51-card deck, 5 Chakra cards and 1 Summon card. If you’ve messed around with One Piece at all, the basic shape will feel familiar fast.

Four Days, Two Cities, One Shadow Clone

The real story hides in the calendar. Paris Games Week 2026 runs October 22 to 25 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The exact same four days as Essen.

So Bandai is splitting its European presence across two shows at once, a sort of Kage Bunshin for the demo tables. From Bandai’s side that’s efficient. Double the reach in one swing. On your side it means picking one, and staffing at both venues is probably thinner than it would be at a single stop.

Lucca follows from October 28 to November 1 at Piazza Santa Maria. We covered that one yesterday.

$35 for a Playmat That Ships in 2027

The NARUTO CARD GAME Official Playmat is listed at an MSRP of $35 (+tax), tagged „Arriving in 2027.“ One per person, limited quantities each day.

If you’re buying in Europe, don’t budget 35 euros. Bandai’s conversions tend to land closer to 39.99, and routing through the German distributor in Ratingen won’t shave anything off. Whether the playmat actually changes hands in Essen or just sits there as a display piece, the page doesn’t say.

What none of the three pages mention: a hall number, a booth number, a time slot. Six weeks out. With roughly 200,000 people walking through Essen, „register on site“ with no time window is really just an invitation to stand in line. So when exactly am I supposed to show up?

My read: sessions will be gone by Thursday midday, Friday afternoon at the absolute latest. If you actually want the CP-001, plan Essen as an early day and download the TCG+ app beforehand (you do not want to be doing that on convention wifi, trust me).

Which leaves the question of what Bandai adds between now and October. The next roadmap drops October 10, twelve days before Essen. If hall and booth numbers aren’t in that one, they’re probably not landing in time at all.

Essen or Paris? And are you going for the card or for the game?
