Naruto TCG at Bandai Fest: Orlando Gets a Date

Bandai dropped another tour stop on the official NCG site yesterday: BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 hits the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando from January 7 to 10, 2027. And yes, the NARUTO CARD GAME is on the title list.

Sounds big at first. Four days, a Florida convention center, seven Bandai titles under one roof. So what does NCG actually bring to the table there?

A Single Line Under „Main Event“

I went through the announcement page carefully. Under the Main Event heading, the Naruto card game gets exactly one item. A Tutorial Session. A beginner walkthrough, same as at Gen Con back in late July. No tournament, no qualifier, nothing of the sort anywhere on that page.

The reason is pretty mundane. Worldwide release is set for Summer 2027. In January 2027 there are still no cards on shelves, which means there is nothing to run a serious tournament with. Those National Finals and Championship streams the Fest advertises belong to the older siblings already sitting in stores: One Piece, Digimon, Union Arena, Dragon Ball Super, Gundam and Battle Spirits.

So NCG is still at the kids‘ table during its own family reunion. Fitting, really. Naruto spent his academy days drilling the basics while everyone else was already passing exams.

Eleven Cities, and Europe Gets Exactly One

The Fest 26-27 tour runs across eleven stops worldwide. Jakarta and Manila in October 2026, Bangkok in November, Hong Kong at the end of November, then Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Shanghai in December. Orlando in January, London also in January, Tokyo sometime in early 2027.

Out of those eleven, exactly one sits in Europe. London, January 2027, and there is still no firm date attached to it. The detail page simply does not exist yet, while Orlando already comes with a full address (9800 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819) and mandatory advance registration.

Before anyone starts yelling that Europe got shut out: that is not what happened. NCG runs its own event roadmap alongside the Fest, and that one treats this side of the Atlantic a lot better. Spiel Essen from October 22 to 25, 2026. Paris Games Week in the exact same window. Lucca Comics & Games from October 28 to November 1. If you want hands on the game, you do not have to wait for London or book a flight to Florida.

What This Actually Means for You

Essen is your date. Plain and simple. Under two months out, reachable for most European players, and it will almost certainly run the same tutorial setup as Indianapolis (where the Bandai booth handed out participant sets and giveaways on top).

Orlando is a different story. Advance registration is required and admission details still read „Coming Soon“. If you are seriously considering the trip, keep an eye on that page, because slots at past Bandai Fests vanished faster than a lot of people expected.

My take: the Orlando date says less about Orlando than it does about pacing. Since June, Bandai has been hauling NCG through every convention that stands still long enough, and every single time the deliverable is a tutorial and nothing else. One Piece had a similar runway and the hype carried all the way to launch. But does that hold for a game leaving roughly a year between announcement and the first boosters? I am genuinely torn. Six months of lead time is marketing. Twelve months of tutorial tour is a patience test.

At least the core loop is public knowledge now. You build around a Leader card, backed by a 51-card deck, 5 Chakra cards and 1 Summon card. You win by dropping your opponent’s Leader’s Life to zero. Anyone who watched the July 29 trailers has a rough idea of where this is heading.

Here is what I actually want to know: will Bandai show something new in Essen, or is it the same stack of cards that sat on the tables in Indianapolis? Tell me what you are expecting.
