Naruto TCG: Three New Sessions, Hong Kong Opens Today

Sign-ups for the NARUTO CARD GAME session at BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest in Hong Kong went live today. You have until September 27 to get your name in. The event itself runs November 28 and 29 at AsiaWorld-Expo, and if you get picked, you find out from October 15.

Hong Kong is the first of three stops that either just opened or are days away from it. The Asian leg of the card game tour is suddenly running on a very tight clock.

Three Cities, Three Windows, One Card

In order, then. Hong Kong plays November 28 and 29 at AsiaWorld-Expo, applications close September 27, results from October 15.

Bangkok actually happens before Hong Kong, on November 21 and 22 at The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi on Lat Phrao Road. Its application window still opens later, September 11, and runs through October 4. Winners hear back from October 22.

Singapore closes out this batch: December 5 and 6 at the Sands Expo Convention Centre on Bayfront Avenue. Applications also open September 11, but they run all the way to October 12, with results from November 5. That is the longest window Bandai has given an NCG session so far.

All three hand participants the same thing: the CP-001 Chakra Card. Same card Jakarta and Manila are giving away, and the one that trades as either a genuine chase piece or a throwaway, depending entirely on which marketplace listing you happen to be staring at.

Why Lining Up Early Buys You Nothing

These sessions are not first come, first served. They are a draw. The Traditional Chinese version of the announcement says so in plain language, using the phrase for „lottery result announcement,“ which settles the question of whether clicking fast helps. It does not.

Then there is the hurdle a lot of people tripped over in Jakarta. You can only apply if your profile in the BANDAI TCG+ app shows the status „Face Photo Verified.“ Upload a face photo, wait, get cleared. Bandai itself says verification can take a week or longer.

Run the math for Hong Kong. Window closes September 27, verification started today, ten days of review in the bad case. It fits. Barely. Start in mid-September and you can miss the whole thing without ever laying eyes on an application form.

That is a lot of friction for a game that is not even on shelves yet. I get the motive (Bandai wants scalpers and duplicate entries out of the promo distribution, and that is exactly what One Piece lacked for years). Still: a biometric pre-check to get taught a card game at a convention booth is quite a statement.

What Reaches Europe

Nothing, at least not directly. None of these three dates is realistically plannable from Germany, and the sessions are tied to their local Fest venues.

The distribution itself tells you more about the world tour. Bandai lists eleven stops for Fest 26-27. Eight of them sit in Asia: Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, plus Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Shanghai, which are all still filed under „December 2026“ with no exact date. The rest is Orlando (January 7 to 10, 2027), London at the ExCeL (January 15 to 17, 2027) and Tokyo sometime in early 2027.

For German-speaking readers that still means SPIEL Essen in October for the tutorial sessions, and London in January if you want the full Fest experience and do not mind crossing the Channel. After that it thins out until the game actually hits stores in 2027. Bandai has promised more information in December, with in-store tutorial sessions starting January 2027. Whether that reaches German retail through Bandai’s distribution chain is a whole other question.

One small thing turned up while checking sources. The Asia news section of naruto-cardgame.com has city pages for Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok and Singapore. As of today there is no dedicated Hong Kong page. The dates and the application window live on the Fest site and in the TCG+ app, but the detail page is missing. Not a disaster. Anyone browsing only the NCG site, though, will walk straight past a window that opened this morning.

The Cadence Is Picking Up

For four weeks this ran roughly weekly: Jakarta, then Manila, then London. Now it is three cities in eleven days. Bandai is visibly building pressure ahead of the next product information drop in December.

And that is the part I keep chewing on. A game that does not ship until 2027 will have a double-digit run of live dates behind it by the time it does. Kishimoto fired the starting gun back in June with an original illustration, and the machine has not stopped since. My theory: if Bandai holds this cadence all the way to release, the card game launches with a community that already played it before it could buy it.
